The Drolatic Beasts of Pantagruel
HOW IT WORKS.
The digital root dictates the strength of a skill. The numbers that make up the digital root (the dice) dictate how it effects the target. Take for instance a beast with the following stats, MISS 1,2,3 HIT 4,5 CRIT 6. A roll of 1+2+3 will have no effect, a roll of 1+2+4 will hit once for 7 digital root damage. A roll of 1,4,5 will hit twice dealing 2 damage (1 damage per hit), just because you landed more hits more does not necessarily mean you will do more damage. Critical hits double the hit damage dealt, so a roll of 1,2,6 will deal 18 damage (9* 2), a roll of 1,4,6 will deal 6 (2 + 2*2). Some abilities will deal digital root damage + a flat damage bonus.
I hope this makes sense :^).
WHAT IS THE DIGITAL ROOT?
The digital root is the result of all the digits of a number being summed together, eg the digital root of 111 is 3, 1+1+1 =3, likewise the digital root of 915 is 5, 9+1+5 = 14 1+4 =5.
